Continuous Improvement Manager

Job description

The main objective of the CI Manager is to support the design of efficient logistics solutions with a service-oriented & quantitative value proposition which is deployed through a structured assessment of customer’s disconnects and associated values.
In order to achieve this, the CI Manager needs to have a solid understanding of process mapping and all the supply chain processes and a background in either logistics and transportation management or project management.

The location of this role would be flexible and dependent on projects. Most often this would mean that CI Manager would work 4 days per week at our customer site in Grimbergen and 1 day per week in Contern, Luxembourg.

Your tasks and responsibilities

In this position, strong interaction with other departments is required as well as a good monitoring approach and coordination between the different parties aiming to support the objective described above.
Strong affinity to the management of the general performance indicators by means of KPIs is required to perform business analytical tasks.

It is the responsibility of the CI Manager to:

  • Be the glue between the customer NCC and Kuehne + Nagel Logistics Control Centre (LCC) operations.
  • Provide support in facilitating customer workshops in order to create a trustful relationship, to understand the supply chain needs and to assess the potential value of optimization
  • Schedule projects and involve necessary resources
  • Monitor milestones and consumed efforts and communicate project discrepancies
  • Fulfill assigned result-oriented tasks, based on a structured approach
  • Support Go/No-Go decisions based on business cases
  • Assess customer’s logistics data, processes and information in order to improve logistics processes
  • Document solution according to customer requested format and based on standard tools
  • Implement process changes together with the involved party and the NCC team

Your skills and experience

  • Bachelor/ Master Degree or equal level of experience with minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in an end-to-end Supply Chain Environment (preferably in automotive sector)
  • Strong forwarding and Transportation background
  • Strong Project Planning and Project Management skills with proven ability to manage teams and deliver agreed solutions complete and on-time
  • Experience in Network Management and Order lifecycle
  • Proactive and customer focused individual with strong communication skills
  • Able to work independently and within a team and has Proven analytical and conceptual working capabilities
  • Excellent knowledge in Microsoft Office
  • Mandatory language skills: Fluent English (spoken and written) and an additional European language
  • Willingness to travel
