Job description

The Supply Chain Manager is in charge of tactical and strategic decisions for the assigned account(s) in both directions: towards the
customer, but also towards internal stakeholders such as Project Management, Control Tower, Controlling, Continuous Improvement.

He/she is responsible for creating the business environment culture to comply with the required responsibilities and execute according to customers demand.

Our Supply Chain Managers are looking continuously for improvements and solution scenarios in order to achieve internal and external targets.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Manage the first level of strategic and tactical customer relationship
  • Manage and coordinate first level escalations with the customer and/or KN internally
  • Identify, negotiate and monitor subcontractors, delivering Service to the account. Initiate appropriate measures in case of deviations in performance or financials.
  • Coordination and agreement of activities related to third parties in terms of: Standard Operating Procedure, Master Data Setup, Data analysis and  Service Level Agreements
  • Creation of Business Cases and follow-up on financial efficiency of projects/process changes, ensure profitability of the entire business
  • Define and Design Business Solutions, analyses and documents “As-Is” processes, propose, agree and document “To-Be” processes
  • Carry out business process audits and monitor and measure performance of LSPs, internal/external Support MBR’s / QBR’s, Financial Forecasting, Monthly reporting
  • Identify continuous improvement initiatives and its follow-up:  Internal steering of goals (Operational / Financial), savings and overall fit into strategic direction, and Customer presentation and stakeholder information
  • Taking ownership for regular Quality assessments. Create, review and amend process-/quality documentation
  • Monitor the operational performance and oversee the performance of the involved teams. Guide business operations in the matter of customer expectations, internal guidelines and KPI.

Your skills and experience

  • Professional Education with focus on Supply Chain Management, Freight Forwarding and/or Logistics
  • Min. 5 years experience in logistics, preferably gained in logistics environment or other service based industries
  • Ability to work autonomously and  to manage several projects in parallel
  • Strong understanding of Project Management discipline and solutions
  • Numeric and analysis skills & awareness
  • Experience of overseeing the implementation of logistics related IT solutions
  • Strong customer focus
  • Ability to lead and motivate a (virtual) team
  • High degree of organizational, communication and negotiation skills
  • Strategic mindset and ability to think “out of the box”
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office package
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is a must
  • Willingness to travel intensively
